24JForaBolsonaro: Brazilians Return to the Streets Of The World

[PRESS RELEASE]

24J - BRAZILIANS RETURN TO THE STREETS OF THE WORLD TO ASK FOR THE END OF THE GOVERNMENT BOLSONARO - ACTS IN 42 CITIES, 6 IN THE USA

Groups of Brazilians from different cities in the United States, the Americas and Europe, organized public rallies as part of solidarity with the protests in Brazil that have been taking place since May and on the 24th of July will take place in more than 400 cities across the country, millions of people are expected in the streets.

In the United States, protests will take place in the following locations:

Washington DC, New York (NY), Boston (MA), Los Angeles (CA), Austin (TX), Newark (NJ), and Deerfield Beach (FL) on the 25th.

In addition to the inhumane and corrupt mismanagement of the pandemic, which has affected nearly 20 million cases and claimed the lives of 550,000 people, making it the worst-hit country in the world, the unprecedented economic crisis has brought the country back onto the hunger map. Urgent issues include Indigenous ecocide and genocide and the destruction of the Amazon rainforest - greater than any other period in Brazilian history, justice against the persecution of leaders, journalists, activists, black people, LGBTQ+ and all kinds of human rights abuses. The country witnesses the destruction of public policies, attacks on the already unstable Brazilian democracy, the return of the military to power, and the free action of armed militias acting under the direct influence of President Bolsonaro and his family.
